Learn more about me!

For over 14 years, I taught in 2 outstanding schools and loved making a difference in children’s lives.

I have 3 busy boys and after the birth of my third son, I found returning to teaching very tough, even part time. I struggled to keep up with the work load and demands of the job!
I made the big decision to leave after Christmas in 2017. It made me sad to leave the classroom but happy to plan a future which meant more quality time with my own family.

Quietly behind the scenes I worked on an idea I’d had for some time. I loved the idea of still being able to teach but without the restrictions of working in schools. I desperately wanted the freedom to work in the local community, sharing my expertise and skills to support others.

Having seen first-hand the gap between some preschool children and those in reception, it gave me an idea. I wanted to support the parents who didn’t have the knowledge of phonics that educators have. I wanted to provide a way in which I could teach and motivate young children to learn and at the same time give carers the confidence to support their child’s learning at home or in a nursery environment.

With the fantastic support and contributions from family and friends, my idea started to become a reality.
In March 2018 Love2learn was founded. Many names and ideas had preceded this but finally this name felt right. I wanted to promote the love of learning.
My intent was clear, I wanted to teach young children phonics and numbers alongside their families or key workers in a fun and engaging way. A way in which the children are having so much fun that they don’t realise how much they are learning!

Being a teacher, an Early Years specialist, a governor of a local primary school and a parent to 3 boys, I only plan sessions that are engaging and fully supportive of what schools deliver.

My passion is working with young children. I love how exciting, inquisitive, unpredictable and enchanting this age group can be.
No two classes are the same! All the children and their families that I am lucky enough to have taught and continue to teach each week, make me happy and want to continue to spread a love of learning!

I endeavour to give your children the best start on their educational journey with lots of fun thrown in along the way.
Make learning fun not formal!
